Reading Promotions Manager Summary Reports

Let's look at a Promotions Manager Summary Report for two promotions. Both promotions ran from 9/5 to 9/10.

The first promotion is a Buy 1, Get 2 at 50% Off promotion.

Three sales were made during the promotion period, however only Item 3 triggered a discount during the promotion:

Base Sale calculation

The baseSale value for the two promotions is $20.00, which is the total revenue from all the sales that did not trigger the promotion during the report period.

Percentage Sales Lift calculation

The precentageSalesLift represents the percentage of the total dollar amount gained due to promotions, which is calculated as follows:

    precentageSalesLift = promotionSale / (baseSale + promotionSale)

In this example, the precentageSalesLift is 42% during the report period:

    precentageSalesLift = $14.50 / ($20.00 + $14.50) = 42.03%
