Why am I receiving the error message below:

Error Code: 12024
Severity:Serious Error or Warning
Short Error:Invalid product identifier.
Long Error:The value <replaceable_value> of type <{1}> does not exist in our Catalog.


Error 12024 may be received if the ExternalProductIdentifier you use in your AddItem, RelistItem, or VerifyAddItem request is not valid. The full error message seen will indicate the value that is incorrect and the Type, as the example below:

What can I do to correct this error?

Check the following tips for possible reasons why your call is failing with this error:

  • Check that your ExternalProductID node and the values in it are correct. Specifically, verify that you have specified the correct ExternalProductCodeType in the <Type> node, and the correct value in the <Value> node.
