Welcome to the eBay Schema Migration Developer Center Archive

Congratulation to everyone for migrating to the Unified Schema!

As of June 1st 2006, support for the legacy XML API as well as the eBay SDK for Windows version 2.6 and earlier has been removed. The Schema Migration information will remain available for reference purposes at this url.

The original eBay XML API (legacy XML API) was rolled out in 2001 for developers making pure XML calls. In early 2004, eBay released the SOAP API and SDK for Java, which both use a newer, unified schema. The unified schema, part of eBay Web Services, supports all five interfaces to the eBay API including XML, SOAP, eBay SDK for .NET (v3.0 and later), eBay SDK for Java, and REST.

Monitor your API Calls; Use the API Usage Report to see which calls have been successfully migrated and which are still using the legacy API.

Software Development Kits and APIs
The APIs and software development kits that support the unified schema are the unified schema XML API, the SOAP API, the eBay SDK for Java, and the eBay SDK for .NET.

Schema Migration Documentation
Includes schema mapping tables (for about 50 calls) and other documentation to help you migrate an application to the unified schema. Please note that the Schema Mappings are no longer being updated. The last update was for API version 459.
Unified Schema
The unified schema is available as an XSD schema file (for the unified schema XML API) and a WSDL file (for the SOAP API).
Legacy XML API documentation is made available for reference only. The legacy xml is not supported and all calls using the legacy xml will fail.
