REST Developer Center

REST enables you to interact with eBay using a simple URL. Making REST calls has become easier with Shopping Web Services. You no longer need a token to make HTTP Get (REST) calls! The token-based REST APIs will not be updated going forward and will no longer be supported as of August 1, 2008. Please use Shopping Web Services Get HTTP protocol.

If you're still not sure which API or language you need, see What should I use for my app? »

Tutorials

  • Tutorials: Shopping Web Services is the best way to make a HTTP Get (REST) call; see the JavaScript and PHP tutorials for making your first call as the easiest examples.

Documentation

  • Please note that the token-based REST API is being deprecated and will no longer be supported as of August 1, 2008. Please use the Shopping Web Services HTTP Get protocol. For those of you currently using the token-based REST API, the eBay REST API Guide is available. Also see the field by field mapping from GetSearchResults to FindItemsAdvanced (in Shopping Web Services).
  • If you already are using a token-based REST API call, see the eBay REST API Guide for a table showing the comparable Shopping API calls.
