eBay Express 

Important: As of September 2008, US eBay Express was shut down. UK and Germany eBay Express were shutdown in April 2008. All eBay Express-specific API calls (e.g., GetSearchResultsExpress and GetCart) were deprecated as of release 579. Please refer to the API Release Notes for more information.

eBay Express is a new specialty site that gives sellers a way to reach on-line buyers who are interested an a more conventional on-line shopping experience. Customers can find new, fixed-price goods on Express and add them to a shopping cart with one click.

Express has now launched in the US, Germany, and UK.

For Buyers: You'll find great deals from reputable merchants on new, name brand, and hard-to-find merchandise. You can purchase products right away—for just about everything you could need or want, from designer jeans, to a complete home theater system. Everything on eBay Express is available for immediate purchase at a fixed price so you're assured of getting the items you want now, with no bidding and no waiting for auctions to end.

eBay Express supports a multi-seller shopping cart and a pay-before-you-buy checkout. The shopping cart works like other typical online shopping carts. For example, buyers can add multiple items from multiple sellers to a cart, and buyers pay once for all the items in their shopping cart—including shipping—in a single, secure payment.

An item in a buyer's cart is still available to be purchased by another buyer until the item has been paid for.

On eBay Express US, buyers pay by using PayPal or their credit card. Both methods are safe and secure and processed by PayPal.

On eBay Express Germany, buyers pay by using PayPal, credit card, or direct debit (Elektronisches Lastschriftverfahren (ELV)).

For Sellers: You need to meet certain eligibility criteria, and you need to include certain features for your fixed-price, Store Inventory, and (for US) auction with Buy It Now listings on eBay to also be included on eBay Express. eBay Express US also includes some Half.com listings.

Selling on eBay Express US is essentially the same as selling on eBay. As long as both the seller and the item are eligible, the item will be included on Express. New items are shown by default on Express US, with used items just a click away.

eBay Express Germany and UK sellers are exclusively business sellers who have committed to adhere to the eBay Express service standards. Only new items are offered on Express Germany and UK.

Communication between buyers, sellers, and eBay (i.e., Ask Seller a Question and end-of-listing emails) remains the same too. In fact, the main difference is that as a seller, you have more exposure to top buyers and convenience-oriented buyers—at no additional cost.
